Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will support daily bakery operations, assist with food preparation, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the food industry, particularly in large batch baking, within a fast-paced, friendly environment. Part time to start, leading to full time hours.
Duties
- Assist in preparing baked goods, including mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Package baked items for customer orders with care and precision
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods, including food preparation and basic cooking tasks
- Ensure all products are stored properly and inventory levels are maintained
- Stand for long periods and heavy lifting
- Early morning to mid morning start times
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bakery environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Skills in food preparation, and baking are highly desirable
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures is a plus
- Kitchen experience involving food handling, packaging, and basic cooking techniques is advantageous
