PROFILE SUMMARY
Wesgroup is poised for substantial growth over the next several years and in preparation for this exciting and challenging phase, we are actively seeking a highly engaged, driven and experienced Lease Administrator to join our team.
The Lease Administrator’s primary obligation will be to support Wesgroup’s leasing team by preparing offers to lease, lease agreements, assignments, renewals, notices and other matters concerning our commercial tenants. You will be responsible for documenting and monitoring our obligations to tenants, including exclusivity rights, deposits, and condition periods. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with our property management team to address lease-related issues during tenancies. You will work closely with our Senior Designated Paralegal, leasing managers and property managers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare various agreements and documents relating to commercial leasing, including offers to lease, lease agreements, renewal agreements, assignment agreements, notices, estoppels, and other tenant correspondence.
- Manage and control lease documentation start to finish to within deadlines, and track and monitor lease conditions to endure that they are met in a timely manner.
- Maintain Wesgroup’s database of leasing precedents and update as required.
- Understanding and navigating Wesgroup’s leasing transaction, legal and other appliable software platforms
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years’ experience in reviewing and/or drafting corporate/ commercial legal agreements
- 2+ years’ experience as legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm or inhouse legal department considered an asset.
- College, Trade or Technical Diploma in Legal, Paralegal or equivalent training
- Drafting lease documentation from existing precedents.
- Understanding corporate structures
- Performing corporate due diligence reviews of potential tenants
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong written, oral and communication skills.
- Highly organized, ability to follow up and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising strong attention to detail, initiative and judgment.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
- Annual Base Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 per annum. Actual offered salary will depend on individual experience, qualifications, geographic location, market conditions for the role, and internal equity.
