We’re looking for Superintendents to lead remote projects across Nunavut on a 21/7 rotation. This is a unique opportunity to take on challenging, rewarding work in the Arctic where your leadership directly contributes to improving infrastructure in northern communities. Superintendent (21/7 Rotation – Nunavut Projects)
As a Superintendent, you will lead boots-on-the-ground operations and ensure projects stay on track, from planning to final walkthrough. Your leadership sets the tone for safety, efficiency, and quality on-site. A key part of this commitment includes supporting the training and development of local Inuit workers and building long-term capacity within the communities where we work.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all aspects daily site operations in a remote environment, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Manage and support crews and subcontractors with clear communication and accountability.
- Develop and maintain short-term schedules and lookahead plans.
- Identify and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, environmental regulations, and LEED or sustainability requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, RFIs, and inspection reports.
- Facilitate coordination with trades, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets or exceeds project standards.
- Coordinate logistics, materials, and deliveries in challenging remote locations.
- Act as primary on-site representative of Penn-Co.
- Work with HR on staffing needs and performance oversight.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performing jobsite culture.
- Play a key role in mentoring and supporting local Inuit workers, helping build long-term community capacity.
What You Bring
- Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Proven ability to lead site operations and deliver projects successfully.
- Experience in remote, northern, or logistically complex environments considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, quality control, and construction project management.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a focus on maintaining positive site morale, fostering a respectful and inclusive work environment, and motivating crews in challenging or remote conditions.
- Cultural awareness and experience working with Indigenous communities considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
