Job Introduction

Closures Technical Centre, a division of Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting, is focused on the design, development and testing of Mechatronics products for the automotive industry. We are currently looking for one student or recent graduate in the Human Resources field for a 12-month co-op placement starting on January 6, 2020.

Major Responsibilities

Provide recruitment support: Co-op program, phone interviews, scheduling interviews, reference checks
Follow up on requirements to complete the New Hire and Termination Checklists
Develop & track monthly Safety Talks, provide administrative support to the JHSC, coordination of wellness initiatives and provide internal Environment, Health & Safety audit support
Prepares the monthly benefit billing reports and payments, and coordinate the annual benefits audit
Prepare materials for training & orientations, conduct orientation sessions
Coordination of social events
Participation in the emergency response procedure and updating evacuation lists, training & orientation
Provide Employee Communication Meeting support
Print, copy, distribute & track Job Descriptions on an bi-annual basis for all employees and as required
Maintain the employee files
Provide back-up coverage for the receptionist during lunch and absences
Assist employees with general requests/questions
Maintain the Communication Bulletin Boards
Sort and distribute pay stubs
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information obtained, written or verbal, within the Human Resources Department
Complete other projects as required

Knowledge and Education

Working towards or completed Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resources Management

Work Experience

No work experience is required, this is a great opportunity for you to build your Human Resources experience.

Skills and Competencies

Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communications skills: verbal, written, listening
Ability to build relationships with & service the customer (internal)
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work efficiently individually, as well as in a team
Strong attention to detail
Maintain confidentiality and integrity
Ability to work under pressure

Work Environment

Office environment with a test lab & prototype shop.
