CCI is a bridge between the 7,000 immigrants and refugees who come to Ottawa each year and the community. We provide programs and services to help newcomers settle and integrate. POSITION SUMMARY
Under the directions of Program Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the efficient coordination of services within the transitional housing program. This role collaborates closely with transitional house clients to explain their responsibility for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in their rooms. The Operational Coordinator will report any issues related to building maintenance and staff coordination to the Program Manager.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will:
- Develop and manage schedules for all operational staff in the Department
- Coordinate with the Kitchen to ensure inventory, stock is sufficient to supply the building
- Monitor building cleanliness and maintenance to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met. Report facility issues or safety concerns to the Program Manager. Ensure operational equipment is in good condition and coordinate repairs.
- Work with clients to explain their responsibilities for maintaining a clean and hygienic living space
- Oversee operational staff performance in compliance with the HR Department and report to the Program Manager as needed
- Collaborate with the main cook to forecast food requirements, place bulk orders, and manage food inventory.
- Prepare regular reports on operational status, including staffing, maintenance, and inventory. Track incidents and provide recommendations for improvements to the Program Manager.
- Ensure staff follow health and safety protocols, including sanitation practices. Conduct training on safety and emergency procedures and maintain records of inspections in compliance with the Joint Health and Safety Committee within the organization
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as Facility Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar coordination role, preferably in a facility or program management setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with staff and vendors.
- Proven ability to manage staff schedules and coordinate operational tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to food preparation and facility maintenance.
- Experience with inventory management and ordering supplies in bulk.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and other relevant software applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected challenges effectively.
