What can you expect in this role?
Have responsibility for developing advanced statistical and machine learning models, researching the latest new methods being used in data science and help us stay ahead of our competitors. This opportunity will expose you to the world of big data analytics.
Conducts preliminary analyses on data involving basic statistical approaches and provides solutions to treat various data deficiencies to support data integrity.
Leads and conducts industry, demographic, and other consumer research to understand new data sources and applications of analytics.
Focuses on innovation and process improvement to promote leading practice and efficiency across the organization.
Builds predictive models and end-to-end automated solutions for insurance related problems.
Presents sophisticated statistical and machine learning models to various stakeholders and provide training and coaching.
What do you bring to the role?
University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Software Engineering), preferably master
Good understanding of modeling and machine learning techniques
Excellent communication and organizational skills
3+ years of SQL, Scala, R/Python programming experience
Knowledge of big data tools and ecosystem (e.g., Hive, Spark, Oozie)
Knowledge of Git and Bitbucket an asset
