Integrated Civil Enforcement is seeking candidates to train and have appointed as Court Bailiffs by the Ministry of Attorney General under the Sheriff Act.
Court Bailiffs are responsible for carrying our Civil Enforcement Actions on behalf of the BC Courts, and are legally authorized to enforce court orders from civil proceedings.
Court Bailiff's responsibilities involve the seizure and sale of judgment debtor’s goods and chattels in order to satisfy a court order issued in civil proceedings. To satisfy a court order, Court Bailiffs can:
- Seize and sell judgment debtor’s goods and chattels;
- Evict tenants from residential premises and turn over possession to the landlords, and seize/sell sufficient goods and chattels of the dispossessed tenant to satisfy costs;
Although Integrated Civil Enforcement will educate, train, and mentor qualified hires, successful candidates will have a background in one or more of the following:
- law enforcement
- peace officers
- CBSA,
- CVSE
- Oceans and Fisheries officers
- Natural Resource officers
- BC Corrections Services, legal services.
Communication skills, both written and verbal are paramount, and all successful candidates must possess superior knowledge of English. Ability to communicate in additional languages is an asset. Integrated Civil Enforcement expanding and is seeking to add qualified Court Bailiffs to our team.
Court Bailiffs are responsible for carrying our Civil Enforcement Actions on behalf of the BC Courts, and are legally authorized to enforce court orders from civil proceedings.
At this time, we are only looking for applicants who are currently appointed as Court Bailiffs with the Ministry of Attorney General, or previously been appointed, or who have relevant experience in another branch of law enforcement.
