Full-Time Nanny – Family in Need of Childcare Support
We’re a family of four looking for an experienced, dependable nanny to join us as our primary childcare provider as both parents transition back to work after welcoming our second child.
We’re hoping to find a nanny who is naturally proactive, enjoys spending time with children, and is comfortable taking ownership of the children’s daily routine.
We also have a friendly, medium-sized dog. You should be comfortable having a dog around, although caring for the dog or taking on any pet-related duties will not be part of the position.
About the Children
Our younger child is 5 months old and will be the primary focus of the position. She is on a fairly reliable schedule, a good sleeper, and we’re looking for someone who is confident in continuing on with routine.
Our oldest child is 4 years old and is just starting Junior Kindergarten. While most of your time will be spent with our youngest, we’re looking for someone who can be flexible when needed and comfortable caring for both children. This may include occasional school pick-ups, PA days, school breaks, and helping maintain the routines of both children.
A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required, as taking the children to activities and outings is part of the role. Mileage will be reimbursed.
What the Role Looks Like
We’re looking for someone who can provide engaging, attentive care while also helping keep the children’s day and spaces running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Caring for the children and providing age-appropriate, engaging activities, including outings to the library or children’s groups and activities
- Preparing lunches and snacks for the children and tidying up afterward
- Doing the children’s laundry and changing/washing their bedding weekly
- Keeping bedrooms, toys, and play areas clean, tidy, and organized
- Driving the children to activities and outings
- Helping with school pick-ups
- Supporting the children’s routines on days when both children are home
- On occasion, meal prepping easy breakfasts and dinners for the children
Both parents work from home a couple days a week in a dedicated office space and will not be directly involved in the children’s day-to-day care. It’s important that our nanny is comfortable working independently, managing the day confidently, and creating a calm and positive environment for the children.
Schedule & Compensation
- Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
- There is some flexibility with the schedule, and we would consider slightly fewer hours for the right candidate
- 40 Guaranteed hours per week
- Salaried position with health benefits
- 10 vacation days, plus one week off during the Christmas holidays
- Desired start date: September, although we are flexible and can accommodate a sooner or later start
Who We’re Looking For
The right person for our family will be someone who is dependable, warm, organized, and takes initiative. We’re looking for an experienced childcare professional who genuinely enjoys being around children and is comfortable working independently in a family home.
Applicants must:
- Have 5 years of experience
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Hold CPR and first-aid certification
- Have or be willing to provide a Police check and Vulnerable Sector check
If you’re an experienced nanny looking for a long-term role where you can become an important part of a family’s daily life, we’d love to hear from you.
