What will you be doing in the Territory Manager - MDF position?

The Territory Manager position is responsible for providing inside sales support and other related services for the Calgary MDF Manufacturing location. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships and keeping current on company products, sales procedures and market conditions.

The Territory Manager role will be based out of our Calgary MDF Manufacturing location. This individual will report directly to the Director, Manufacturing in Calgary, with a dotted line relationship to the Senior Director, National Accounts. This position is a key individual contributor to the manufacturing sales team, focused on achieving sales targets that are in line with the values of the company.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain positive customer relationships.
Work closely with the manufacturing sales team as well as liaison with the Operations team to satisfy customer due dates.
Maintain and keep current detailed records, reports and customer data.
Effectively represent Metrie’s interests when dealing with customers, the community, employees and suppliers.

Major Responsibilities

Customer Focus
Track and issue product proposals ensuring compliance with company sales procedures.
Field customer calls and filters product related calls to appropriate managers.
Act as a liaison between operations functions and customers to manage delivery expectations.
Follow through on sales orders and inquiries.
Teamwork
Collaborate within cross-functional teams to keep management and customers up to date on shipping schedules.

What background will make you successful?

4+ years of Sales experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Strong utilization and understanding of spreadsheets
Strong written and oral communication skills
Prior CRM Tool training / use an asset
Prior sales / customer support experience an asset
Understanding of the building industry and construction practices preferred
