: The salary range for this position is CAD $36.48/Hr. - CAD $36.48/Hr.
Summary: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, position supervises Power Engineers and other designated staff designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance and determining related training and orientation requirements. Performs maintenance and alterations to heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, gas, compressed air, medical gases and other mechanical systems throughout the hospital. Maintains related records and reports and ensures compliance with various codes and regulations related to power engineering and/or safety policies and procedures.
What You Bring: Education
Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia. Five years' recent, related experience including two years in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

What We Offer: Supervises designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance and determining related training and orientation requirements.
Reviews work requests and consults with user departments regarding specifications and other project requirements, interprets drawings and specifications in order to determine materials and equipment required, calculates materials and labour in estimating cost of projects and makes recommendations as required.
Performs preventative maintenance, construction and alterations of heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, gas, compressed air, medical gases and other mechanical systems throughout the hospital.
Prepares for work requests and projects by preparing estimates, arranging work schedule with user department and assembling staff, supplies, tools and equipment. Monitors the progress of the work through ongoing communication with user department and making adjustments as required.
Ensures compliance with various codes and regulations applying to power engineering and/or safety policies and procedures by methods such as providing direction in relation to plant safety to persons working within the power plant, carrying out checks on mechanical systems throughout the hospital and maintaining work area in accordance with established safety standards and guidelines.
Recommends the purchase of related supplies and equipment to the Chief Engineer. Coordinates the delivery and maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment and tools.
Completes related reports/records including operating inefficiencies, equipment breakdowns and safety hazards and forwards to Chief Engineer.
Operates heating and air conditioning systems including starting up and shutting down related pumps, fans, air compressors and pneumatic systems. Monitors and adjusts temperature control systems and records meter and gauge readings to ensure distribution of air heating to designated areas.
Monitors and adjusts physical plant and heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems by operating a variety of mechanic, pneumatic and/or electronic control systems and performing tasks such as altering systems and operating parameters and schedules. Repairs and calibrates various instrumentation components of the steam and HVAC systems.
Tests and maintains auxiliary power generators and repairs/adjusts as required.
Maintains, repairs, replaces and extends steam piping systems including components of the Physical Plant such as expansion joints, valves, steam traps, strainers, heat exchangers, gauges and insulation,
Performs other related duties as assigned.
