SafeStart is a family-run workplace safety training company that was founded in 1975 as Electrolab Limited. We are leaders in Human Factors Management, with our primary mission being the reduction of preventable death and injury, both on and off the job. Accidental injuries and death are a worldwide epidemic. A preventable-injury-related death occurs every three minutes. Over the last 15 years, more than 2.5 million people have gone through the SafeStart training program. Who You Are
At SafeStart, the Project Manager plays an integral role in contributing to successful implementation projects for our clients. We are currently searching for a collaborative project management professional to join an existing team of highly skilled individuals to continue to add value to our growing and expanding project-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have strong work plan development and progress oversight skills. They will be expected to collaborate on establishing and refining new and existing processes and resources to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects, ensuring the results and innovation we seek are being achieved.
The Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling various project activities, from the beginning of the process through to sustainability for multiple client (internal and external) projects.
The successful candidate may also want to invest in a cape since we measure our success by the number of lives saved—it’s very empowering.
A Day in the Life of a Project Manager
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Coordinate internal and external resources and develop project team roles and responsibilities, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments
- Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements; Prepare and present status reports
- Collecting implementation and project feedback for continuous improvement purposes
- General office administration duties
Need to Haves
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- Experience developing project management foundations, processes and resources
- Advanced Smartsheet skills (Control Center – Blueprints, Connectors, Data Shuffle)
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time wisely with tight deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Outstanding collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to maintain confidential information
Nice to Haves
- PMP certification
- Practiced in PMP Disciplined Agile
- Experience with Salesforce CRM
Just the Facts
- Full-time, permanent
- The successful candidate must live close enough to the office to be present for onboarding (first 3 months in-office), in-person meetings or direct support requests
- Hybrid role. After onboarding, minimum 3 days in-office per week (Tues-Thurs)
