New Standard Ag is part of AgriHub Inc., owner of Western Canada's premier agricultural equipment and supply companies, including Penner Farm Services, Western Ag Systems, United Agri Systems, and Dundas Agri Systems. Serving the Dairy, Hog, Grain, Poultry, and Manure Management sectors, we provide our farming partners with customized Design-Build, Service, and Supply solutions that support the success of agricultural operations across Western Canada.
We are currently seeking an energetic, customer-focused Store Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our New Standard Ag Winnipeg location.
What you'll do:
- Schedule and assign work to store employees and follow up to make sure work is completed;
- Meet store sales goals by training, coaching, supporting, and providing feedback to store staff;
- Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and by email, and help at the counter when needed;
- Work with Human Resources and the Operations Manager on hiring, onboarding, and training store employees;
- Work with Human Resources and the Operations Manager on coaching, employee concerns, performance reviews, and staff development;
- Work with the Operations Manager to meet store sales, margin, and expense targets;
- Build relationships with existing customers, identify sales opportunities, and involve the appropriate salesperson or product specialist when required;
- Maintain accurate inventory, proper paperwork, stock levels, and store displays. Make sure no product leaves the store or warehouse without the required paperwork and system entry;
- Oversee daily store requirements including opening and closing, order entry, invoicing, payment processing, deposits, returns, credits, and cash controls;
- Deal with staff and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner and report larger concerns to the Operations Manager;
- Follow and enforce company policies, health and safety requirements, and safe work procedures;
What you'll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in business, agriculture, retail management, or a related field is an asset
- Three to five years of retail, customer service, or operations experience, including experience supervising or leading employees
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lead a team, set priorities, and follow through on commitments
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with staff and customer concerns
- Basic understanding of sales, margins, expenses, inventory, cash, and financial reports
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and business systems for orders, inventory, scheduling, and reporting
- Positive attitude and willingness to help customers and coworkers
