Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service operations within a fast-paced restaurant setting. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to ensure success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change using basic math skills.
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
- Assist with food handling and storage procedures to ensure compliance with health standards.
- Support team members as needed in various tasks related to food service operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, cashiering, or restaurant environments is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and operate POS systems efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Good time management skills with the ability to work quickly under pressure during peak hours.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks comfortably.
