- Time off: 2 weeks vacation, 3 paid sick days, 10 paid holidays, paid birthday off, paid volunteer day.
- Benefits: Extended health, dental, life insurance, and disability.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (hours vary with the work).
- Growth: Opportunity to move into a Crew Lead position for painters who show leadership and craftsmanship.
- Mileage reimbursed for project-related travel.
- A close-knit team of professionals that genuinely care about the craft.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
A Typical Day
You arrive on site ready to work. Morning huddle with your Crew Lead – you review the safety plan, work order, and what needs to be done by end of day. You get set up and start the prep – protecting floors and furniture, filling, patching, sanding. Mid-morning you're cutting trim, rolling a fresh coat on the walls, or spraying cabinets, depending on the scope. The homeowner walks by and says hello – you're professional, respectful, and friendly. Lunch. Afternoon you knock out your section, help your crew hit theirs, and do a QC pass on your own work before your Crew Lead does one with you. End of day you clean your tools, tidy the site, help load the van, and clock out.
Deliver Quality Work
- Report to your Crew Lead and support each project through initiation, execution, and final walkthrough.
- Review your assignment schedule and work order before each project so you show up prepared.
- Handle prep meticulously – because the finish only holds up if the prep does.
- Use brush, roller, and spray equipment with competence – understand all painting tools inside and out, and maintain them properly.
- Organize your tools and materials resourcefully – planning ahead saves time on site.
- Do your own QC pass before your Crew Lead does theirs – catch deficiencies before the homeowner does.
Support Your Crew
- Show up to daily huddles, toolbox talks, and site walkthroughs ready to contribute.
- Have a clear understanding of the scope of work and communicate progress, blockers, and questions clearly with your Crew Lead and teammates.
- Follow JDavis Painting standards and health and safety protocols on every job, every day.
- Wear a respirator, harness, or other PPE when required.
- Speak up if you see an unsafe condition – before it becomes an incident.
- Log your hours accurately in the scheduling app and assist with daily client project updates when needed.
- Celebrate individual, team, and company successes at team meetings and events.
Represent JDavis Painting
- Communicate with homeowners, subcontractors, and teammates in a professional, respectful, and polite manner.
- Keep the jobsite free of loud music, swearing, and inappropriate discussion.
- Bring a positive, “can-do” attitude to problem-solving – especially when something on site doesn't go to plan.
- Keep your work area – and the client's home – clean, organized, and protected.
- Leave every job looking better than you found it.
- Improve your skills and knowledge – participate in performance evaluations, attend training events, and seek out professional development opportunities.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- 3+ years of high-end residential painting experience (interior and exterior).
- Strong proficiency with brush, roller, and spray techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of a wide range of products (paints, stains, varnishes, primers, sealers) – including the proper prep and application techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable with cloud-based tools and apps – Microsoft Teams, BusyBusy, online training platforms.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Willingness to travel within the City of Toronto.

THIS PROBABLY ISN'T THE RIGHT FIT IF...
- You want a quiet, solo job – you'll be part of a crew and reporting to Crew Leads.
