Our clinic's Ophthalmic Techs play a vital role in helping improve the lives of our patients and their eyes. They are a skilled medical professional working closely with our doctor to preform a variety of tests which help diagnose and treat various eye diseases.
The ideal candidate for this position has a background as an Ophthalmic Tech or has worked in an Ophthalmology or Optometry clinic. They thrive working in a fast-paced environment and are customer service oriented with an aptitude to deal professionally and respectfully with patients
Duites as a technician include but are not limited to:
- Efficiently and accurately documenting patient information and patient history
- Taking and recording visual acuities, intraocular pressure, and other tests as required
- Accurately using ophthalmic diagnostic equipment (OCT, Visual Field, and Auto Refractor)
- Administering eye drops
- Recording all findings in an Accuro EMR
- Discussions with patients regarding procedures, surgeries, treatment plans and medication use
- Assisting and preparing patients during in-office procedures
- Maintaining and cleaning of exam rooms including monitoring of supplies
- Sterilization of surgical instruments
- Performing additional administrative tasks necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the clinic
