OVERVIEW
The Business Analyst will provide essential support for the global repo trading desks, ensuring efficient operations and effective communication across various teams including Front/Middle Office, Trade Desk Support, and Back Office. This role involves addressing inquiries, participating in process enhancements, and facilitating the rollout of new vendor functionalities to optimize trading operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in repo trading systems within a sell-side organization, demonstrating expertise in trade execution, lifecycle events, and collateral management. They will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with key business stakeholders and technology contacts to resolve issues and enhance system functionalities.
Location: Toronto, ON (Onsite)
Contract Length: 6 months, with a possibility of extension
Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
Pay: T4 $84 / IC $96
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide day-to-day support for BMO’s global repo trading desks, ensuring smooth operations.
- Efficiently and quickly respond to inquiries from various groups involved in global repo trading.
- Participate in the delivery of small-to-medium size enhancements to existing processes based on business priorities.
- Assist in the rollout of new vendor functionality, including testing, validation, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Develop strong partnerships with key business stakeholders and technology contacts.
- Act as an expert on all integration aspects of repo systems, collaborating with external teams to resolve issues.
- Resolve identified issues by working with repo trading system vendors and external contacts such as trading venues and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in system upgrades and infrastructure/security patching, ensuring applications are validated and ready for business.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2-3 years of experience working with repo trading systems in a typical sell-side organization.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of repo trading, including trade execution, lifecycle events, and collateral management.
- Experience with outright bond trading and interest rate derivatives is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with systems such as Bondfire, Broadridge FinPro/Impact/SFCM, Bloomberg TOMS, FIS BondOne, Calypso, Anvil, and Apex.
Preferred
- Proficiency in building productivity tools/applications using Python and Excel/VBA is a strong asset.
