Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced DZ Driver to join our growing team. This position primarily involves roll off bin delivery and pickup, while also supporting occasional lumber and material deliveries using smaller company trucks. The ideal candidate is dependable, punctual, safety focused, and comfortable working in both driving and operational environments. This is not strictly a highway driving position. Drivers may also assist with general yard operations, equipment movement, and forklift duties when required. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally with customers and team members, and understands the importance of maintaining schedules and safe job site practices. A minimum of 5 years commercial driving experience is required. Roll off experience is strongly preferred. Forklift certification or previous forklift experience is considered a strong asset. This is a seasonal full time position with competitive pay, steady work during peak season, and a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate DZ vehicles for roll off bin delivery and pickup
- Assist with occasional lumber and material deliveries using smaller company vehicles
- Support yard operations and material organization when required
- Operate forklifts or assist with loading and unloading materials when needed
- Perform daily vehicle inspections before and after trips
- Ensure loads, bins, and materials are transported safely and securely
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, office staff, and customers
- Maintain professional and courteous customer service at job sites
- Ensure punctual arrival for scheduled deliveries and pickups
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles and equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Be available for occasional weekend work during busy periods or service requests
Experience
- Minimum 5 years commercial driving experience required
- Valid Ontario DZ License with clean driver’s abstract
- Roll off or disposal industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles preferred
- Forklift certification or forklift experience considered an asset
- Experience working in construction, lumber, disposal, or landscaping industries considered an asset
- Strong punctuality and time management skills required
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable performing both driving and operational yard duties
- Strong understanding of safe load handling and transportation procedures
- Reliable, professional, and safety focused attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
