Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Co-op to join our finance team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and financial services within a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, develop proficiency with industry-standard software, and contribute to the accuracy of financial data. This paid co-op position is designed for students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
Duties
- Assist with data entry and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday
- Help process payroll using systems like ADP, Ceridian, Kronos, and UltiPro
- Perform bookkeeping tasks including ledger maintenance and transaction posting
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Support budgeting activities and prepare reports for review
- Assist with the use of various financial systems including PeopleSoft and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms
- Contribute to month-end closing activities and audit preparations
- Collaborate with team members on special projects related to financial data management
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an Accounting, Finance, or Business program
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and math skills
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms is preferred
- Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP, Ceridian, Kronos, or UltiPro is a plus
- Proficiency in data entry, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward learning opportunities
