We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Cook to join our vibrant restaurant team. Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled in accordance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as cutting, portioning, and garnishing ingredients
- Follow proper cooking techniques for various sushi types, including rolling, slicing, and plating
- Serve dishes promptly to ensure optimal freshness and customer satisfaction
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and sanitation
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service hours
Skills
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food service within a restaurant or kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Skilled in meal preparation techniques specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various sushi-making tools and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of the food industry trends related to sushi and Japanese cuisine is a plus
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates
