Position Summary
The Commercial Lube & Preventative Maintenance Technician plays an important role in maintaining the reliability and performance of customer vehicles by performing preventative maintenance services and supporting shop operations. This position is responsible for completing oil, lubrication, and fluid services safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized work environment and ensuring inventory is properly managed.

Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance Services
- Perform scheduled oil changes and fluid replacement services on commercial vehicles and equipment.
- Drain, replace, and top up engine oil, transmission, differential, coolant, power steering, and other fluids as required.
- Collect and label oil samples for analysis when required.
- Inspect, replace, and document oil, fuel, air, hydraulic, and cabin filters.
- Lubricate chassis, suspension, steering, driveline, and other components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform visual inspections during preventative maintenance and report any deficiencies or safety concerns to the supervising technician or Shop Manager.
- Accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
Shop Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized oil bay and work area throughout each shift.
- Clean and maintain shop equipment, tools, and service areas.
- Properly dispose of used oil, filters, fluids, and other recyclable materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Notify management when waste containers require servicing or removal.
- Assist technicians and other team members as required to support daily workflow.
- Follow established shop procedures and quality standards.
Inventory & Supplies
- Receive, label, organize, and store oil, lubricants, filters, and related supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels and perform routine inventory counts.
- Notify management of low stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
- Ensure products are stored safely and rotated where applicable.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies, safe work procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the company-provided uniform in a clean and presentable condition.
- Report hazards, incidents, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions immediately.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing commercial vehicle oil and lubrication services.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Willingness to attend manufacturer training, safety meetings, and ongoing technical education.
- Availability to work full-time.
Required Equipment
Employee must provide:
- Basic hand tools appropriate for the position
- CSA-approved steel-toe safety footwear
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced commercial truck repair environment.
- Regular exposure to moving vehicles, machinery, lubricants, and automotive fluids.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 25 lbs (11 kg).
- Shop environment is well-lit and properly ventilated.
- Noise levels may vary throughout the day; hearing protection is provided when required.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
