Site Superintendent
Location: Woodstock, Ontario Project: Woodstock Art Gallery – 4th Floor Renovation Company: Anka / Project Delivery Team Employment Type: 6 Month Contract, On‑Site
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee day‑to‑day construction activities for the Woodstock Art Gallery 4th Floor Renovation. This is a hands‑on, site‑based leadership role responsible for supervising trades, maintaining safety, coordinating schedules, and ensuring high‑quality execution in an occupied municipal building.
You will act as the primary on‑site representative, working closely with the Project Manager at Anka, the Consultant team, and the Owner to deliver a well‑coordinated, safe, and timely project.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Daily Oversight
- Maintain full‑time presence on site whenever work is underway.
- Supervise all subcontractors, trades, and site activities.
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Prepare and update 2‑week lookahead schedules.
- Coordinate daily work sequencing to minimize disruption in an occupied building.
- Manage deliveries, material handling, and site logistics.
- Coordinate with Owner‑provided vendors (furniture, AV, IT, etc.).
Health & Safety Management
- Serve as the on‑site competent person under OHSA.
- Conduct daily hazard assessments and toolbox talks.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Manage incident reporting and WSIB requirements.
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain detailed daily site logs (work performed, manpower, delays, inspections, safety notes).
- Lead and chair bi‑weekly site meetings; prepare agendas and issue minutes.
- Communicate proactively with the Project Manager regarding progress, risks, and issues.
- Manage RFIs, site instructions, and coordination with consultants.
Quality Control
- Review work for compliance and quality before consultant inspections.
- Identify and resolve coordination issues between trades.
- Maintain up‑to‑date drawings and documentation on site.
- Track and close deficiencies promptly.
Closeout & Turnover
- Support substantial performance inspections.
- Coordinate as‑builts, O&M manuals, training sessions, and turnover documentation.
- Ensure all closeout deliverables meet project requirements.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience as a Site Superintendent or Site Coordinator on interior renovation projects.
- Experience working in occupied institutional or municipal buildings is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Ability to speak turkish will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with construction scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Monday.com).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.

Pay: $4,500.00-$5,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
