The Opportunity: Full-time professor to teach in Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship and/or post-secondary programs.
What you need to be successful:
- Certificate of Qualification in the Automotive Services Technician (310S) – Red Seal is an asset
- A Certificate of Qualification in Truck and Coach Technician (310T) - Red Seal is an asset
- A Certificate of Qualification in Heavy Equipment Technician (421A) - Red Seal is an asset
- completed an apprenticeship including in-school and on-the-job training
- minimum of five years of current work experience as a journeyperson in the Automotive Service Technician Trade
- strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- excellent, leadership, mentoring and presentation skills
- strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- knowledge of a variety of software packages
- teaching experience is an asset and/or mentoring and training of apprentices in the workplace
Instruction may Include:
- Apprenticeship and Post-Secondary instruction
- Automotive systems diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
- Hybrid electric and emerging vehicle technology
- Vehicle inspection, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance procedures
- Shop safety, customer services and industry-standard work practices… and more
Sault College provides an attractive total compensation package, encompassing competitive wages/salaries, a defined benefit pension plan, group insurance benefits, and a variety of employee perks. This is a full-time academic bargaining unit position. Salary range is $77,153 to $133,752 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
