Shift: (Midnights) Sunday-Thursday, 10:00pm-7:30am
SUMMARY
Assist dispatch team with covering shifts when needed. Required to dispatch drivers for deliveries and pickups, LTL and Truckloads as needed. Respect appointments with our customers, organizing drivers in a most efficient manner in this respect.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispatch Truck Drivers on various loads, including Linehaul, FTL and LTL.
- Dispatch Truck Drivers on various loads, including Linehaul, FTL and LTL.
- Enter loads and pick-ups into system from email, fax and Customer calls.
- Communicate with Dispatchers within the Erb Group of Companies to ensure accurate coverage of loads.
- Assist the team in answering Customer and Driver calls, assist with inquires whenever possible.
- Monitor emails in a timely fashion to keep up to date with daily information.
- Assist in any traffic duties when required, ticketing, photocopying, date entry and routing.
- Monitor satellites and Driver’s progress constantly to ensure smooth flow and no delays. Communicate with operations of issues with said progress.
- Provide quality customer service and communicate driver information to the supervisor when necessary.
- Dispatcher Assistant tasks : Enter customer pickups into our information system, to follow up with customers on issues during the pickup process, and book pickup appointments as necessary. To assist dispatchers in inquiries for pickups (purchase orders issues, location issues, etc.).
- All other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years of experience equivalent to the job description or previous experience as a dispatcher or router preferably in the transport industry.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Montreal and surroundings.
- Excellent people skills while dealing with customers and drivers on a regular basis.
- Ensure smooth flow of communication, directions and paper flow.
- Good keyboard skills, accuracy, knowledge of shipping documents, organizational skills.
- Computer literate (AS400, Microsoft Office, Truckmate).
- Resourceful and capable of multi-tasking.
- Bilingual (written, spoken).
- Hours are variable and candidate must have flexibility in terms of scheduling (day, evening, night).
- The candidate may be required to work additional hours and the hours can be adjusted.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Salary based on 40 hours of work.
