Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation and service of safe, high quality food to patients.
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions (to be tested)
Ability to follow basic arithmetic calculations (to be tested if necessary)
Ability to demonstrate correct lifting and carrying techniques of items weighing in range of 10-50 lbs (to be tested)
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Ability to meet Public Health standards related to food handling
Ability to meet physical demands (prolonged standing, frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pulling and pushing of retherming & support carts)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work all shifts
Recent satisfactory attendance and performance records

Preferred
Food Handler Certificate within past 5 years
Experience working in an institutional food service environment
