Reporting directly the Engineering manager, you will be part of the Nordion Engineering team. This position will be responsible for Control System design and installation of Industrial Irradiators.
This position is deemed a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW). A Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) is defined by the Nuclear Safety and Control Act as a person who is required, in the course of the person’s business, or occupation in connection with a nuclear substance or nuclear facility to perform duties in such circumstances that there is a reasonable probability that the person may receive a dose of radiation that is greater than the prescribed limit for the general public (1 mSv per year for the whole body).
Control System design and installation of Industrial Irradiators. The control system is typically comprised of a PLC and SCADA system with VB.Net and SQL Server components.
Tasks include: Working with customers to understand and document requirements, controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, start-up assistance and after sales support.
Approximately 10% of the role will require international travel to customer sites.
Electrical Engineering or Technologist degree and 8-10 years relevant work experience
Proven experience with industrial automation, proven experience in Allen Bradley Guardlogix PLC logic and programming, Wonderware HMI / SCADA programming and SQL Server database
P. Eng certification

This position may require occasional shift work on evening and /or weekends, includes working in a combination of office and industrial environments
International travel is a requirement of the job
Training Required: Must complete all required training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker
