CGI is seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and platform capabilities across AWS environments. In this role, you will combine cloud architecture, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and operational leadership to build secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions. Working closely with engineering, security, and product teams, you will establish reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns, standardize deployment frameworks, improve developer experience through self-service platform capabilities, and support production readiness across enterprise applications. Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules, CloudFormation templates, and standardized deployment frameworks to support consistent infrastructure provisioning.
- Architect secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platform solutions supporting modern application deployments.
- Lead the design and implementation of developer self-service capabilities using Backstage Scaffolder and reusable deployment templates.
- Build and maintain CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions and related DevOps technologies.
- Provide architectural guidance for cloud-native capabilities, including secrets management, GraphQL Federation, observability, and deployment pipelines.
- Support production environments by participating in launch readiness activities, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and providing technical leadership during critical incidents.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams to define cloud standards, platform architecture, and operational best practices.
- Mentor technical teams on Infrastructure as Code, cloud architecture, and platform engineering practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform reliability, scalability, security, and developer productivity.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud infrastructure and platform solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture.
- Proven expertise developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience designing reusable infrastructure modules, deployment frameworks, and platform automation.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline development using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps platforms.
- Experience supporting cloud-native application deployments and developer platform capabilities.
- Working knowledge of Backstage, developer portals, or self-service platform engineering concepts.
- Experience with GraphQL Federation, secrets management, observability platforms, or modern application deployment architectures.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking, DNS, Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud security, and production support models.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application deployment issues across development and production environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $75,000 - $145,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
