Join the team at Orillia Rama Regional Airport as a Property Maintenance / Airport Ramp Technician and play a vital role in maintaining our airport grounds and supporting aircraft operations. Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly Rate: $25/hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Year-round employment with indoor and outdoor responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Aircraft Operations (Training Provided)
- Move and position aircraft around the airport safely.
- Assist with aircraft movements in and out of hangars.
Grounds Maintenance
- Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, such as:
- Lawn tractors, weed trimmers, power mowers, backpack sprayers, and power edgers.
- Snow removal equipment including push snow blowers, enclosed snow blower tractors, and shovels.
- Perform seasonal maintenance tasks:
- Summer: Lawn mowing, gardening, flower bed care, trimming, and debris removal.
- Winter: Snow and ice removal from pathways, driveways, and public areas.
- Ensure all pathways and areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
General Maintenance
- Establish and maintain weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance schedules.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and ensure all tools and equipment are safe and functional.
- Perform cleaning duties in shared spaces, including bathrooms, as part of the team.
- Communicate effectively with management to address maintenance needs and updates.
Customer Interaction
- Engage professionally and courteously with airport users, staff, and the public.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 2–4 years in maintenance or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with lawn care tools and shop equipment.
- Knowledge of landscaping and maintenance best practices.
- Physical Ability:
- Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs.
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments year-round.
- Driving Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Safety Gear: Must have personal safety footwear. Safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection will be provided.
