Responsibilities
The Junior WordPress Developer will assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of WordPress websites. This role requires a foundational understanding of WordPress, basic web development skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing new WordPress websites based on provided designs and specifications.
- Customize existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
- Implement basic custom functionalities using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Update website content as needed, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Assist in the migration of content from other platforms to WordPress.
- Optimize content for SEO and performance.
- Identify and fix bugs or issues with WordPress sites.
- Perform regular updates of themes, plugins, and WordPress core.
- Conduct basic website performance optimizations.
- Work closely with designers, senior developers, and other team members to deliver high-quality projects.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and discussions.
- Provide support to clients and internal teams with WordPress-related queries.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Programming or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in WordPress development.
- Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Understanding of full stack web development (client-side and server-side).
- Familiarity with RESTful API and JSON.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Familiarity with web hosting environments and domain management.
- Basic understanding of SEO best practices.
- Knowledge of web accessibility standards.
- Experience with responsive web design principles.
- Must share a project profile in the submission, showcasing previous WordPress projects and relevant work experience.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with React/TypeScript.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, preferably Playwright.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
