Seeking reliable, FEMALE staff on a casual/on-call basis for a young, independent client with Cerebral Palsy living in the Wolseley area of Winnipeg.
The Client uses a power wheelchair, and needs assistance with many areas of everyday life including:
- standing pivot transfers into and out of the wheelchair,
- personal care, including toileting, showering and dressing,
- basic cooking,
- driving an accessible vehicle (provided) for errands & outings,
- occasionally providing support for walking with a walker,
- pet care, including litter box changes, and leash walks,
- light cleaning duties.
Any applicants must be able to perform all the above tasks safely, as well as:
- Be legally allowed to work in Canada
- Provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination OR agree to be vaccinated after you receive an employment offer
- Hold or provide satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
- Hold a valid Manitoba Driver’s License
The Client is a law school graduate, and in the process of being licensed as a Lawyer. She owns her own home, accessibility-ready vehicle, and has 2 pets (cat & rabbit). She enjoys cooking, crafting, travel, socializing with friends, and gardening. A candidate with similar interests would be a plus!
Compensation $20/hour to start.
Monday-Sunday shifts available. Usually as either:
Days: 7 hour shift
Evenings: 4-5 hour shift
