CCS is seeking a 309A Licensed Construction and Maintenance Electrician from the Windsor area to join our team on permanent, full-time commercial medical and healthcare construction projects throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.
This position requires regular out-of-town travel from Windsor. CCS provides paid travel time, company transportation or approved mileage reimbursement, employer-paid accommodations and employer-paid meals while employees are working away from home.
The successful candidate will have strong commercial or institutional electrical experience, be comfortable working from drawings and specifications, and take pride in delivering safe, professional workmanship in specialized healthcare environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, connect, test and troubleshoot commercial and institutional electrical systems
- Install conduit, conductors, feeders, panels, lighting, controls and related electrical equipment
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schematics and project documentation
- Perform system testing, commissioning, deficiency correction and related documentation
- Coordinate electrical installations, shutdowns and tie-ins with supervisors, contractors and other trades
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and complete repairs or modifications as required
- Work safely and professionally in active medical and healthcare construction environments
- Follow applicable electrical codes, project safety requirements, infection-prevention procedures and site-specific healthcare protocols
- Maintain high standards of workmanship during both new construction and renovation projects
- Assist with project documentation, material tracking and completion of assigned work
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician Certificate of Qualification
- Certificate must be current and in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
- Commercial or institutional construction experience
- Strong ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, specifications and technical documents
- Sound knowledge of electrical installation methods, testing procedures and applicable codes
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-trade construction team
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly from Windsor to Toronto and stay overnight as required
- Ability to work a project-dependent schedule
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement
- Medical, hospital, laboratory, clinic or other healthcare construction experience
- Experience working in occupied healthcare facilities
- Experience with shutdowns, tie-ins, commissioning and deficiency work
- Lead-hand or supervisory experience
Compensation
Hourly pay is based on verified qualifications and directly relevant licensed journeyperson experience:
- Up to 2 years: $38.00–$42.00 per hour
- 3–5 years: $43.00–$47.00 per hour
- 6 or more years: $48.00–$52.00 per hour
A Red Seal endorsement is not required. Red Seal status, healthcare-construction experience and demonstrated ability to independently lead and complete work may support placement toward the upper end of the applicable pay range.
