Axe is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Calibration Technician II on behalf of a well-established technical services organization in the Greater Montreal Area.

The successful candidate will perform calibration work on a variety of equipment, support quality-driven service delivery, and work both independently and as part of a technical team.

Key Responsibilities
The Calibration Technician II will be responsible for performing technical calibration work across a range of equipment and measurement categories.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform calibration, adjustment, inspection, and verification of customer equipment.
- Work with a variety of measurement tools, test equipment, and technical instruments.
- Complete assigned calibration work accurately and within required timelines.
- Review technical instructions, procedures, and equipment specifications before completing work.
- Document calibration results clearly and accurately.
- Identify equipment issues, out-of-tolerance conditions, or unusual findings and escalate when appropriate.
- Support laboratory and field-based service work as required.
- Maintain strong attention to detail when handling customer equipment and technical documentation.
- Follow internal quality standards, safety practices, and operating procedures.
- Organize daily workload and manage priorities with limited supervision.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, technical colleagues, and customers when required.
- Support continuous improvement within the technical service environment.
- Assist less-experienced team members when appropriate.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and skill development.
- Travel occasionally to customer locations depending on business needs.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical experience, reliability, and strong attention to detail.
Required qualifications include:
- Previous hands-on experience in calibration, metrology, instrumentation, electronics, mechanical systems, laboratory services, field service, or a related technical environment.
- Ability to work independently on assigned technical tasks.
- Strong understanding of technical procedures and measurement accuracy.
- Comfortable working with tools, instruments, and testing equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional customer-service mindset.
- Ability to troubleshoot and identify technical issues.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally when required.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience would be considered an asset:
- Technical diploma, college certificate, trade-related training, military technical training, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in a quality-controlled laboratory, technical service centre, maintenance shop, manufacturing environment, aerospace, industrial service, utilities, electronics, or instrumentation setting.
- Exposure to formal quality systems or regulated technical environments.
- Experience working with electrical, pressure, dimensional, temperature, torque, mechanical, or similar measurement categories.
- Familiarity with calibration certificates, service reports, and technical documentation.
- Experience supporting customers directly in a service-based technical role.
Work Environment
This role may involve working in a technical laboratory, service facility, and occasional customer-site environments. The successful candidate should be comfortable working around tools, instruments, electrical equipment, mechanical parts, and technical workstations.
The position may require standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting equipment, and handling tools or instruments throughout the workday.
