Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves overseeing specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
- Lead and oversee the kitchen during service, making sure food comes out on time and consistently
- - Set up and hand off a clean, organized kitchen at the start and end of each shift
- - Train, coach, and support kitchen staff to help them grow and improve
- - Help recruit, hire, and retain great team members
- - Manage kitchen budgets, including labour and food costs
- - Keep track of inventory and prep to avoid waste
- - Make sure the kitchen and equipment are clean, well-maintained, and in good working order
- - Run daily team meetings (pre- and post-shift) to keep everyone informed and motivated
- - Provide hands-on coaching and feedback to staff during shifts
- - Follow health and safety, food safety, and company policies at all times
- - Build strong relationships with the front-of-house team
- - Communicate company goals and initiatives clearly to the team
- - Focus on your own growth and development through regular check-ins with the Chef
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership in managing kitchen staff or teams.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse culinary team.
- Solid understanding of restaurant management principles and the food industry landscape.
- Exceptional skills in food presentation, serving, and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
