Powell Contracting Ltd., located at 1143 Cloverley Street, North Vancouver, BC, V7L 1N7, is looking for two experienced carpenters to join their team. These are full-time, permanent, year-round positions working 40 hours per week. The salary offered is $32.00–$40.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus 4% of gross pay in lieu of vacation. The successful candidates may participate in the company’s group insurance benefits, which include extended health, dental, paramedical services, and vision care, after three (3) months of employment.
Our ideal candidates take pride in quality workmanship and must have at least 3–5 years of carpentry experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
- Supervise other workers
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of carpentry experience
- Solid knowledge of framing, finishing, forming and general carpentry techniques
- The job is physically demanding (must be able to lift at least 50+ pounds).
- Must have own tools and safety equipment.
- Must have Fall Protection Ticket
- Ability to reliably travel to various job sites;
- Valid driver’s license and/or access to dependable transportation required.
