Manager of Infrastructure Services

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services, the successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the infrastructure team responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable technology services that support teaching, learning, and business operations across the DSBN.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate strengths in the following areas:
- Leadership and management for the Board's enterprise network, server, cloud, and endpoint management environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing technology services that support student learning and operational excellence.

Lead strategic technology initiatives through project management, technology roadmap development, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.

Drive cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to Ontario public sector legislation, industry standards, and best practices for information security and data protection.

Manage and support the infrastructure team by providing guidance during operational challenges, critical incidents, and service outages while fostering collaboration, professional growth, and accountability.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external organizations while overseeing budget planning, procurement activities, and contract management to maximize value and service outcomes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:-
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the Board's network infrastructure, server environments, data centre operations, endpoint management systems, and infrastructure support services to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology operations.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate staff by establishing priorities, assigning work, managing schedules, resolving issues, and supporting individual performance and professional development.
- Lead the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise infrastructure and endpoint management solutions, ensuring seamless service delivery across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards, including MFIPPA, PHIPPA, EDSTA, AODA, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Oversee incident response and business continuity efforts, directing staff during critical incidents, major service disruptions, and emergency situations affecting Board operations.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage infrastructure projects and technology initiatives that align with the Board's strategic objectives, operational requirements, and educational goals.
- Review and evaluate hardware, software, licensing, maintenance agreements, and technology investments to support cost-effective decision-making and minimize operational and financial risk.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve service delivery standards, quality assurance processes, and operational performance measures across Information Technology Services.
- Provide technical expertise and strategic advice to senior leadership, researching emerging technologies and recommending innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and infrastructure capabilities.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments, vendors, government agencies, partner organizations, and sector colleagues to support collaboration, procurement activities, and the adoption of best practices.
Skills, Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree or three-year college diploma in Computer Science/Technology, Business Administration, or a combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Board
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working within and Information Technology environment

Demonstrated experience in project management, budgeting, operational planning, and people leadership

Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise hardware, software, networking, servers, cloud services, and endpoint management solutions.

IT, vendor-specific, or management certifications preferred (ITIL 4 Foundation, ITIL 4 Managing Professional, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP)).

Experience within Ontario's Public Education Sector is preferred.

Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to lead teams in a complex and rapidly evolving technology environment.

Knowledge of Board-specific applications, technologies, and equipment is considered an asset.
Salary range: $99,051 - $115,911 and includes a competitive benefits plan through a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, life insurance, AD&D), and enrolment in the OMERS pension plan. This is a 12-month full-time position (35 hours per week) and is part of the Board's union-exempt Administrative Management Group.
