The Opportunity

We are looking for a smart, passionate, eager individual to join the Talent Acquisition team! In this role, you would be acting as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition. Through this role, you will be exposed to the world of full-lifecycle, high volume recruiting in the automotive industry. You will be given the opportunity to gain experience in the areas of attraction, recruitment, and selection. You will work with our amazing Talent Acquisition team to support all activities related to the recruitment lifecycles for a range of positions in our dealerships and other lines of business including special finance, finance and insurance, collision centers, and corporate office. With your support, our goal will be to ensure that we are hiring the best talent for any given position.

This is a one-year contract with the possibility of an extension.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the recruitment team in all aspects of attraction, recruitment, assessment and selection activities through a coordinated recruitment process.
  • Manage a small portfolio of entry-level requisitions.
  • Assist in creating job postings and posting jobs leveraging ADP Workforce Now.
  • Conduct preliminary screening of resumes and assist in creating candidate shortlists.
  • Administer pre-screen questionnaires and move candidates through the beginning stages of the recruitment and selection workflow.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers, recruiters, and candidates.
  • Conduct reference, background, and various pre-employment checks as required.
  • Assist in creating pre-screen questionnaires and interview guides based on the competency framework.
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, candidates and team members across multiple geographic locations.
  • Be mentored in the area of designing innovative sourcing strategies using multiple resources including the internet, direct sourcing, and existing talent pipelines.
  • Assist in creating content and managing the recruitment team’s dedicated Facebook page.
  • Contribute to the execution of social media and digital recruitment strategies as they relate to recruitment.
  • Coordinate and represent AutoCanada at recruitment events including job and careers fairs. Ensure all tracking and reporting is completed accurately and on time.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Minimum 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Post-secondary education – Degree, or Diploma in Human Resources; CPHR candidate status or RPR designation(s) considered an asset.
  • An understanding of the recruitment lifecycle, best practices, and framework.
  • Customer service experience, including developing customer relationships internally and externally.
  • Some experience providing recruitment support including involvement in pre-screens, assessments, proofreading and editing of job postings, resume screening and conducting pre-screen interviews.
  • Interest in learning how to leverage social media platforms and digital recruitment strategies to target and attract talent.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good organizational and time management skills, handling multiple priorities, performing a variety of tasks and meeting required deadlines.
  • Excellent skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Phenomenal interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound, practical business judgment, and a problem-solving, client-focused, results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent document reviewing and proofreading skills with a high level of proficiency related to business correspondence and communications.
  • Process-oriented, superior attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong morals, ethics, and integrity along with a commitment to privacy and confidentiality
  • Result-driven and career-focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful.
