Fire & Fermentation is Cowichan Valley's destination for winemaking, outdoor cooking, and craft fermentation. We help customers create amazing wine, enjoy exceptional BBQ experiences, and discover locally crafted kombucha.
We're looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and likes being part of a small business where every day is different.
Responsibilities:
Wine and Kombucha Production
- Rack, filter, and stabilize wine according to established procedures
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas
- Assist with kombucha production
- Label and organize customer orders
- Assist customers during bottling appointments
- Receive and organize incoming inventory
- Maintain production supplies and stock levels
- Prepare customer orders and special orders
- Assist with inventory counts and merchandising
Facility Operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Follow food-safe and sanitation procedures
- Assist with store setup for events and promotions
- Support general operations as required
Required
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow written procedures consistently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Reliable transportation
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently after training
Preferred
- Experience in food production, brewing, winemaking, hospitality, or manufacturing
- Food Safe certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Customer service experience
- Warehouse experience
- Interest in wine, food, fermentation, or outdoor cooking
