Community Engagement Representative - Flexible Hours
DocuPet Corp
Welland, ON

About the Company

DocuPet Inc. is a fast growing company that’s mission is to provide a safe and happy home for every pet. In partnerships with cities across North America, DocuPet manages pet licensing programs and promotes responsible pet ownership across these communities. We offer lost and found pet services, online pet profiles, and pet tags to help ensure the safety of our cities, citizens and pets. It all starts with a licence!

We are partnered with the Welland and District SPCA and effectively offer these services for the community.

About the Job

DocuPet community representatives are primarily responsible for engaging the pet owner community and informing owners about pet licensing by-laws and benefits. This is accomplished through DocuPet’s door to door program, where our representatives distribute educational materials. In most cases, there is no interaction with the homeowner required. This job is a great fit for outgoing, self-motivated individuals who are looking to escape from behind a desk and gain satisfaction from hitting and exceeding targets.

A day in the life

You’ll kick off the day with a spring in your step, coffee in hand (if you’re anything like the rest of our crew), and a backpack loaded with your go-to gear - a list of addresses to visit that day, and an assortment of flyers designed to help you get the best results.

10am - 10:15am: First up, route planning. Jump on Google Maps and using your assigned route, plan out which neighbourhoods you will visit and in what order. Time to hit the street!

10:15am - 2pm: In this time you have visited about 80 homes on foot and left a door flyers at each one. You are tracking your progress as you go, and entering helpful information based on what you’re learning and observing.

2pm - 2:30pm: Take a break! Put your feet up, grab a bite, and check out what’s new with the rest of the DocuPet team.

2:30 - 5pm: Back out in the neighbourhood, during this time you visit another 50 or so homes.

5pm - 5:30pm: Data entry time. This is when you will fire up your laptop or iPad to update your timesheet, submit your numbers for the day, and enter any additional notes for the whole team to learn from.

5:30pm: Give yourself a pat on the back for another day of a job well done!
