Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about eye care and customer service, with opportunities to grow within the optical and retail sectors. The Optical Assistant will support optical operations, assist patients, and contribute to a positive patient experience. Candidates with experience in optical settings, retail sales, or laboratory work are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists and optical staff with patient examinations and frame selections
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and guiding them through frame options
- Manage retail sales transactions, including processing payments and updating patient records in Optosys
- Support inventory management by stocking frames, lenses, and accessories
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming optical environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care
Requirements
- Optical experience required
- Previous retail sales or sales experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to navigate Windows computers and Microsoft applications with ease and expertise
- A proactive attitude with excellent communication skills
