Landform Inc. is seeking a dedicated Landscaping Construction Lead Hand to join our Calgary team. Lead Hands work directly with the Foreman to supervise and direct the work of other landscapers, ensuring projects meet our high-quality standards and specifications.
Wage Range: $28.01 – $34.00 per hour (Based on experience and skill level)
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Crew Management: Assist the Foreman with crew management, including time tracking, scheduling, and quality assurance. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and assist in training new team members to help them be successful.
- Operational Support: Work with the Foreman to determine requirements for staff, tools, equipment, and materials . Create trucking lists, organize deliveries, and take responsibility for the organization and cleanliness of tools and trailers.
- Technical Execution: Complete accurate site layouts and measurements. Read, scale, and understand blueprints while interpreting survey stakes and data . Use lasers, Zip Levels, and Rover to layout grades.
- Hands-on Construction: Perform unsupervised layout of grades and surveys. Execute the installation of stone walkways, patios, steps, walls, wood decks, fences, and pergolas.
- Safety & Compliance: Complete hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, site emergency response plans, and emergency response drills . Report safety concerns and broken equipment using the Landform flag-out procedure.
- Equipment Oversight: Assist in ensuring landscaping equipment is properly maintained, including troubleshooting and arranging for repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in the landscape industry or equivalent education.
- Technical Skill: Minimum 500 hours of machine experience preferred
- Training: Valid First Aid certification, LSE, GD1, and Load Securement.
- Company Standards: Must have completed orientation and equipment training day.
- Physical & Logistics: Ability to lift 50 lbs and have own transportation.
