Job Description
Autobahn Freight Lines Ltd. is seeking an experienced and reliable Dispatcher to join our growing operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing loads, and ensuring efficient and timely transportation while maintaining excellent communication with drivers and customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide night-shift dispatchers, providing real-time support and ongoing performance evaluations.
- Operates in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment coordinating between drivers, customers, and customs.
- Handle escalated issues (e.g., severe weather delays, equipment breakdowns, emergencies, or major client complaints) with minimal supervision.
- Utilize GPS tracking systems to route personnel, manage workloads, and maximize efficiency.
- Review the shift log, compile reports on overnight performance, and coordinate seamless transitions with the morning management team.
- Monitor driver Hours of Service (HOS) to ensure strict compliance with safety and legal requirements.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience, ideally with the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Fleet Manager Preferred, GPS routing software, and MS Office suite.
- Experience working in an EDI based environment.
- Exceptional multitasking, crisis management, and the ability to supervise and lead teams while working independently.
- Requires working overnight shifts, such as Sunday through Thursday, or similar off-hour blocks.
