Canrig Drilling Technology Canada Ltd. is looking for a skilled candidate to fill our Shop Hand position in our Nisku, Alberta shop.

This position is responsible for performing daily shop duties, exercising prioritization in assigned tasks and providing assistance to the Mechanical Supervisor and other shop employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure the shop is clean and organized at all times.
Provide assistance to Top Drive Supervisor and other shop employees as required.
Mechanically inclined.
Pick-up and delivery of parts.
Assist with shipping and receiving.
Operate the overhead crane and forklift.
Maintain and operate various tools.
Report any safety or mechanical deficiencies or other areas of concern to supervisor.
Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

The successful candidate will have the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clear abstract is required.
1 - 2 years previous general labour experience.

Mechanical knowledge and experience working on oilfield equipment and heavy duty machinery would be an asset.
Experience working with a loader/forklift is an asset.
Knowledge of drilling rig components is an asset.

Aptitude to learning quickly.
Ability to problem solve.
Energetic, reliable and hardworking.
This position works a pre-determined (Monday to Friday schedule), with possible overtime as operational needs dictate.
