Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and technical expertise, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and quality. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring operational continuity and optimizing equipment performance through proactive maintenance and repairs.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Repair or replace defective components, including engines, pumps, belts, valves, and electrical systems.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to diagnose operational problems.
- Operate and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders and maintenance history.
- Conduct welding, boiler maintenance, HVAC repairs, and other specialized tasks as needed.
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial electrician work, welding procedures, and hazardous materials handling.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or heavy machinery repair within manufacturing settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience, including low voltage systems.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting tools such as CMMS software.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and industrial electrician practices.
- Ability to analyze complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards.
- Good communication skills in English for documentation and teamwork purposes.
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial electrician work, welding, HVAC systems, or boiler operation are preferred.

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
