Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our poultry processing and farming facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience in plant maintenance and a focus on safety and efficiency. Leadership qualities and customer service skills are a plus, as this position may involve supervising team members and collaborating across departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
- Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed to support facility operations
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for complex repairs
- Oversee facilities maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general plant upkeep
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations at all times
- Provide excellent customer service to internal departments by responding promptly to maintenance requests
Requirements
- Proven experience in plant maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical systems and working with PLCs
- Skilled in welding, plumbing, HVAC, or other trades relevant to plant upkeep
- Familiarity with work order management and record keeping
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment operation
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills in English for effective collaboration and documentation
- Prior experience within the agriculture sector is highly preferred
