This a contract position, with corporate responsibility.
The Master Data Management (MDM) Lead will direct and manage all corporate data governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to a corporate data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, at all functional levels, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.
The MDM Lead serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality and protection issues and will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the quality and value of core data assets and to support the strategic requirements of the business.
The MDM Lead supports Business Process Owners as a subject matter expert on master data creation, maintenance, integration, and the selection and use of automated governance tools.
Establish a corporate data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
Roll out a corporate data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and compliance through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship
Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting critical data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning
Develop and maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems, owners
Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements across the enterprise
Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
Lead Senior Management to achieve their objectives and resolve issues escalated from Business and Functional data governance representatives
Provide progress reports to Executive and Senior management
Oversee periodic updates to the Data Governance Roadmap
Develop and implement periodic reviews of all critical data to ensure data is current and accurate across functions and divisions
Measure progress toward business goals by creating clear MDM program metrics, setting a baseline, and linking these metrics to business benefit and data value metrics
University / college degree in Information Technology or Business Administration
A minimum of 5 years of experience effectively implementing and managing master data governance and management systems
Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets, and approaches related to data protection
Experience with functional requirement gathering and documentation oriented towards implementing new systems and on-boarding from other legacy systems
Results orientation with a willingness to commit to a direction and drive operations to completion
Demonstrated ability to manage adversity and challenging situations
Advanced knowledge of business applications with a solid understanding of master data domains and their impact on other modules, business processes, and system configuration
Experience successfully communicating technical concepts, processes, and procedures to all levels of audiences from senior managers to end-users
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
High level of confidence to make suggestions for process improvement and issues resolution
Effectiveness in building trust, respect and cooperation among teams
Experience with SAP S/4 HANA
