Mercato di Luigi (Chinatown location - 213 E Georgia) is seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join the team! Our location features an Italian market, deli, and café by day, transforming into a full-service restaurant by night (Cantina di Luigi, inspired by our very own Ask for Luigi), celebrating the essence of Italian cuisine with a focus on simplicity and fresh local ingredients.
Please note, evening and weekend availability required.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years experience in a similar role
- A passion for food, cooking, leadership, and mentorship
- A calm, kind, and steady presence with team members, especially under pressure
- A sense of ownership in your role with a willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and improve
- The ability to support cost controls for food, labour, and inventory, following systems and standards with care
- Experience with Italian cuisine is considered an asset
- Food Safe Level 1 required
