At SMS Equipment, our Human Resources Business Partners are responsible for providing a full range of Human Resources client support services. In this role, the incumbent will provide general expertise in a wide range of integrated human resources related services to management, supervisors and all staff. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their experience, knowledge and positivity to the team.
This role offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinate and lead recruitment, selection process and discuss staff needs with managers. Develop sourcing strategies, communicate with external recruiting vendors, coordinate resume screening, pre-employment testing and interview preparation. Make the offer with the hiring manager and assist with new employee on boarding.
Coach and advise supervisors, managers and employees on Human Resources policy and procedures. Assist in the establishing performance expectations, measures and provide support on performance reviews where needed. Assist and on occasion, lead communication initiatives including employee briefing session, lunch & learns, employee meetings and internet and intranet forms.
Investigate and resolve day-to-day employee/labour relations problems, either directly or through advice to line management. Lead HR projects and process improvements in various Human Resource areas as required.
This role requires a related post-secondary education along with 2-3 years’ experience as a Human Resources professional. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Additional qualifications include:

Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required
