Job Summary

We are seeking 3 C# .NET developers to join our digital product development team. If you're passionate about technology, building digital products, and working within a multidisciplinary team, you’ll love working at the City of Mississauga.

About you

You have a strong product development background with experience in building web enterprise scale applications. You look at application architecture from a corporate lens and understand how to best build micro-services and serve headless applications. You understand what it takes to work within a full-stack team of technical professionals through the concept, development and delivery phases of digital products. You believe in modern development practices and advocate for corporate standards around how we build web products within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Project Leader of Digital Services, you will be responsible for the development of digital products and Digital Service’s application architecture. You will contribute to a multidisciplinary team to build custom web applications through the development of corporate micro-services and e-commerce infrastructure. You will be required to stay current on emerging technologies and practices to continuously improve the way we offer solutions to the organization. This role requires you to participate at various capacities within multiple projects between teams that involve significant scope and complexity.

The successful candidate will:
Plan, analyze, design, develop and implement software development projects
Create and design solutions to defined business problems, both manual and automated
Design, code, test, debug, maintain, and document programs primarily in C#
Work with front end developers to create high quality client solutions
Assist in the architecture of new systems
Create RESTFUL web services for web-based applications and manage API infrastructure
Contribute to the creation of organizational development best practices and standards
Skills and Qualifications

University Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
4+ years of practical development experience
3+ years of product design
3+ years of practical .NET development experience (C# preferred, .NET Core Experience preferred)
3+ years creating Micro Service or SOA based server-side architectures
3+ Experience creating secure RESTFUL services
Strong object-oriented design skills
Must have a strong understanding of C#, ASPX and MS SQL
Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner or in a small team
AWS Serverless Deployment or Docker Container deployment experience is an asset
Payment gateway and ecommerce platform integration experience is an asset
Canadian Municipal experience would be an asset


Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 43.54 - $ 58.06
