Avenue Technologies is looking for an experienced Commercial Locksmith Technician who wants more than just another service job. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their trade and is looking to grow with an established company, develop their commercial locksmithing skills, and take on more responsibility over time.
One of the key advantages of this position is the opportunity to work primarily on-site at a dedicated commercial property rather than constantly travelling from one service call to another. You will become familiar with the building, its systems, customers, and security requirements while developing an ongoing relationship with the property and its management team.
For the right person, this provides a combination of stability, variety, independence, and long-term growth. You will also have the opportunity to work with a wide range of commercial locking systems and door hardware, including Medeco and other high-security systems, while being supported by an established technical team. We are looking for someone who wants to build a career with us.
Position Summary: This is a hands-on commercial locksmith position focused on servicing, repairing, maintaining, and installing commercial locking systems and door hardware. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, troubleshooting mechanical problems, communicating with customers and site representatives, and taking ownership of their work. Medeco experience is a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, maintain, and replace commercial locks and door hardware
- Cut and duplicate keys
- Service and troubleshoot commercial locks, cylinders, and door hardware
- Service panic bars, exit devices, door closers, and related hardware
- Assist with master key and restricted key systems
- Maintain accurate work records, tools, equipment, and inventory
- Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives
- Follow site safety and security procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional locksmith experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial locks, cylinders, keys, and door hardware
- Experience with rekeying, pinning, key cutting, and troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
- Reliable, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Commercial, institutional, or property-management experience is preferred.

This is an on-site, hands-on position, primarily based at a commercial customer facility in the Toronto/GTA area. Some travel to other customer locations or service calls may occasionally be required.
Pay: $30.00-$38.98 per hour
