Samples Department Job Description
Centura is a wholesale distributor of flooring and related products that was founded in 1961 and has grown to become one of Canada’s most formidable floor covering distribution companies. Centura is looking for a full-time Sample Department associate to join their London team.
The Sample Department is responsible for preparing and constructing sample boards of all types for the Centura showroom and for the stores of Centura customers. Sample Department employees will work with the Showroom and Warehouse Departments and Sales Team, while also supporting inventory processes for flooring samples.
Responsibilities:
· Construction of display sample boards for showroom, customer stores
· Assist the showroom with picking, re-stocking and labelling of sample boards
· Preparation of samples for sales staff
· Responding to customer inquiries regarding samples
· Support with invoicing system for customer billing for samples
· Receiving samples and coordinating with Inventory staff to ensure properly captured into inventory
· Inventory reconciliation of all samples in the Centura building
· Maintains an inventory of display boards that customers have
· Preparation of carpet samples displays
· Performs any other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Skilled in using hand tools
- 2 years of experience in a warehouse facility preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to use computer systems
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
Work Environment and Physical Demands
· Frequent lifting from 5-49 lbs unassisted
· Occasional lifting from 50+ lbs assisted
· Sustained periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and bending required

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
