We are seeking a warm, hands-on, and detail-oriented Retail Sales & Store Operations Assistant to join our boutique team. This role combines keeping our store beautiful and running smoothly with helping customers on the floor. Day to day, you'll spend much of your time on the practical side of the boutique — cleaning and tidying the sales floor and fitting rooms, pricing and tagging merchandise, restocking, and keeping displays polished — while also assisting customers with fit and styling as they shop for lingerie, intimates, and fashion footwear. The ideal candidate takes pride in a spotless, well-organized store, is discreet and approachable with customers, and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves.
Responsibilities
Store Care & Operations (primary focus)
- Keep the sales floor, fitting rooms, entryway, and stockroom clean and tidy throughout the day — dusting, vacuuming, wiping down mirrors and surfaces, and resetting fitting rooms between customers
- Price and tag new merchandise accurately, and update pricing for markdowns, promotions, and sales events
- Receive, unpack, and process incoming stock; steam, fold, hang, and size-sort garments to boutique standards
- Restock the sales floor and keep sizes replenished, returning tried-on items to their proper place promptly
- Handle delicate garments and footwear with care — proper folding, hanging, boxing, and display handling
- Keep displays, shelves, and window presentations elegant, on-brand, and inviting
- Conduct regular tidying rounds so the store always looks its best, especially before opening and after busy periods
- Assist with inventory counts, stockroom organization, and general upkeep tasks as needed
Customer Service & Sales
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, judgment-free shopping environment
- Assist customers in finding lingerie and footwear that fit beautifully, offering sizing guidance and honest styling advice with tact and discretion
- Manage fitting rooms attentively — checking in on customers, retrieving alternate sizes and styles, and respecting privacy at all times
- Operate the POS system for sales transactions, including cash handling, returns, and gift services
- Suggest complementary items (matching sets, hosiery, shoe care, accessories) to complete the look
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, store policies, and new arrivals
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members, in person and by phone
Experience & Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail, stockroom work, cleaning, or customer service is preferred but not required — full training provided, including fitting and sizing
- A strong eye for detail and genuine pride in keeping a space clean, organized, and beautiful
- Comfortable being on your feet and staying busy — this is an active, hands-on role
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to spot what needs doing without being asked
- Familiarity with pricing/tagging, merchandising, POS systems, cashiering, and basic math skills is advantageous
